We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty” Luc 17:10. It is this theme that was developed by Abbot Zéphyrin LIGOPI (Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for the Apostolate of the Laity, CEAL/CENCO) during the day of thanksgiving organized by the MIIC-RDC/Pax Romana last Sunday November 20, 2022 on the Solemnity of the Feast of Christ the King of the Universe.
The day began at 9:30 a.m. with a mass of thanksgiving celebrated by the Abbot Secretary of CEAL. This was followed by the presentation on the theme of the day by the facilitator (Abbé Zéphyrin LIGOPI).

THE STRATEGIC AREAS OF INTERVENTION MIIC RD CONGO

After the reflection on the topic of the day, the National President of the MIIC-RDC, Mr. Alain Bernard MONE presented the report of the activities of the MIIC-RDC for the year 2022 highlighting the challenges to be overcome by the MIIC-DRC and the prospects for future action.

After his presentation, a meeting of the Council of MIIC-DRC/Pax Romana took place. The council, which in the absence of the National Congress, ensures the monitoring and control of MIIC-DR Congo.
In view of the challenges listed in the activity report for the year 2022, fifteen (15) resolutions below structured into four (4) areas of intervention were adopted as part of the prospects for future actions for the MIIC -DR Congo:

Area of ​​intervention 1: Ensure organizational strengthening and develop strategies for the visibility of the MIIC RDC:

  • Supervise and coordinate the actions of the MIIC-RDC at national and diocesan level;
  • Revitalize the specialized secretariats;
  • Put in place an effective strategy for mobilizing resources ;
  • Put in place a better system for planning, monitoring and evaluating activities or projects;
  • Involve members more in self-care and volunteering;
  • Make the MIIC-RDC functional in all the dioceses of the country to expand the Pax-Romana family;

Area of ​​intervention 2: Electoral issues and good governance:

  • Propose mechanisms to support the electoral process;
  • Put in place strategies to regularly evaluate the mode and acts of governance at all levels (national, provincial and local);
  • Encourage members who wish to engage in politics and create a network.

Area of intervention 3: Better management of the environment (Laudato Si’):

  • Contribute to the better sanitation of our towns and cities;
  • Support common initiatives for management environmental efficiency;
  • Continue the reflection and write-up about climate change.

Area of ​​intervention 4: Unemployment and youth employment:

  • Promote the professional integration of our young graduates;
  • Increase the competitiveness of our young job seekers.

At the end of the session (4:00 p.m.), a fraternal meal was shared by the
attendees. It should be noted that the day was attended by twenty-two (22) members including five (5) delegates from MIEC-DRC.
